Getting Started Guide

To view data available in Disability and Health Data System (DHDS), begin by choosing one of three features from the home page:

Data for one topic – Maps & Data Tables

  • Step 1 – Click “Maps & Data Tables” on the home page.
  • Step 2 – Browse the data tree and select a data view.
  • Step 3 – Select an available map or data table.
  • Step 4 – View your selected data. The map or data table you selected will display data on one topic for all geographic areas across the United States.

Data for one geographic area – State Profiles

  • Step 1 – Click “State Profiles” on the home page.
  • Step 2 – Browse the tree and select a state profile.
  • Step 3 – Select a geographic area from the drop-down menu.
  • Step 4 – View your selected state profile. The profile you selected will display data on multiple topics for one geographic area.

Data for two geographic areas – Dual Area Profiles

  • Step 1 – Click “Dual Area Profiles” on the home page.
  • Step 2 – Browse the tree and select a dual area profile.
  • Step 3 – Choose two geographic areas from the drop-down menus. Click “Go”.
  • Step 4 – View your selected dual area profile. The profile you selected will display data on multiple topics for two geographic areas.
